We stepped through the doorway and I turned, firing into the cloud of smoke to cover Derick as he backed up to us. "Get up those stairs!" Arim yelled. "I'll cover you two!" He fired into the smoke as I reached forward, grabbing Derick by his shoulder and yanking him backwards. "I said go!"
"I ain't leaving you!" I said, firing into the smoke. He turned and looked at me, his eyes full of knowing and remoarse. My eyes widended as I looked at him. He knew this was a suicide mission and he knew he'd surved his time well, his last stand would probually save two lives of people who would serve several more years for the COT. He knew what he was doing, and I was messing it up.
"Sir, yes sir!" I said, saluting him quickly before climbing up the stairs. And I knew if he was gonna die, atleast he was gonna die laughing. I had barely left him behind before the ground shook, the roof collapsing down right ontop of Arim. But I couldn't dwell on that long. There were these... thi

I moved out of the train. I had just been accepted to Ronaki Academy. A military school, and the best on at that. They had said they'd have a test waiting for me upon my rrival at twelve, and I was revved up and ready to take it.
I stepped out of the subway and looked up at the building. I had just enough time to get there, but something stopped me. I looked around me and saw a group of people. All wearing black suits. All following one person. I looked at my watch and back to them as they looked at me and nodded there heads, pushing him into an alley.
My jaw dropped as I moved over to the alley. The guy was on the ground bleeding and they were counting money in their hands. "What's going on?" I asked. They turned to me and looked me up and down.
"Nothing. Now get lost before you end up like your friend over here." He gestured to the guy on the ground. He looked like he had lost a lot of blood. And they didn't even have weapons!
"Give him back his money. Now." I sai

"I got it!" My attention was moved to Derick as he stood up from where he had been crouched working on getting the power on. "What, forgot about me did you?" There was a sound of turbines cranking up and then the hanging overhead lights buzzed to life, siving the room an eerie glow.
"Okay." Arim said, anger in his voice. "He's cut the comm link so we should get moving before whatever was after them gets us too." He moved over to the door and opened it, a giant creature in the way. It looked at him and screeched. It's maw open as it screeched. My gun was up and firing before anyone could react. The bullets riddled it's head as it slammed into the door frame the room shaking.
I felt the floor rumble and then I was falling backwards, riddling the roof with bullet holes and braking some of the lights. I was falling down, the little glare of light an the sound of the creature off in the distance. Getting farthur and farthur from me. And then...
My eyes opened and I l

I stepped to the door and looked at Arim. He nodded and I quickly swiped my hand over the door. It slid open and I pulled back, Arim and Derick aimed through the door, ready to fire at all targets. I pulled my gun up slightly and then slowly peered through the door. I moved in swiftly, the others right behind me.
The room was small and metal, more like a highschool lab that wasnt being used then a military base. But still... something felt wrong to me. "Derick." Arim said, he had command in his voice like a born leader. "Get to work on the lights. I know you've done harder jobs before. This should be childs play." Derick moved over to a panel on the wall and started working on getting the lights on. As he worked I studied the room, looking for details that would answear my questions. Though I found nothing.
"Where the hell are you guys at?!?!?!" It was Merv, and from the sound of it he was in a hurry.
"We're in the building through the only door in there." Arim answe

The remaining pieces of the scorched building continued to fall, landing on the bloodied bodies of the men that had died. Alexander, Tanya, all of them. Gone.
Burns and blood on my face, I sat down on a piece of the building that once stood before me, slightly tearing my already ruined and burned long Russian coat that covered my entire body. I dropped my empty G18 to the ground. I had lost everything.
My empire. Gone.
I eyed a pistol under one of the bodies.
My only friends. Gone.
I picked it up, checking the cartridge. One shot.
My love of live. Gone.
I raised it to my head, ready to end it all. Then, I saw something. Something brown. Wood, perhaps. A music shop, across the street. With a violin featured in the broken front window. I dropped the weapon. Memories replayed in my head.
Myself as a child, getting made fun of because I was different. Until the day I was handed a violin. My high-powered ears naturally hearing the notes and repeating them on the instrument.
